Recently, we conducted a 12-day Women Empowerment Series, where every conversation was centered on women — their journeys, their struggles, and their silent strength. Across these 12 days, one pattern kept repeating itself. Many women spoke about wanting more from life, but not being able to move forward.
Not because they were incapable.
But because they were carrying too much.
- Family pressure.
- Responsibility of managing children.
- Household chores.
- Expectations of being available for everyone.., all the time.
In many cases, women shared how they were never truly given the “window” to explore their own dreams. Decisions were often made for them.., subtly, politely, but firmly.
According to the International Labour Organization, women globally spend over three times more hours on unpaid care and household work than men. This invisible labor consumes energy, time, and emotional capacity.., leaving little room for self-growth.
"Many women channel their unfulfilled dreams into their children. They want their children to become what they couldn’t."
They want their children to go where they weren’t allowed. To speak where they were silenced. While this comes from love, it also comes from suppressed aspirations.
A McKinsey report highlights that organizations with more women in leadership roles are 25% more likely to outperform financially. Yet, women continue to be underrepresented in leadership, Not because of lack of talent, but because systems often fail to support them during critical life phases.
The Role of Workplaces
This is where workplaces play a defining role. During the 12-day series, we discussed topics that often remain uncomfortable — Guilt, burnout, identity loss, self-doubt, and the pressure to “Manage everything perfectly.” These are not personal weaknesses. They are systemic challenges.
Leadership coaching, especially for women, is not about changing who they are. It’s about helping them reconnect with who they’ve always been: confident, capable, and deserving of growth.
- When women are given clarity, they rise with responsibility.
- When they are supported, they lead with empathy.
- When they are heard, workplaces become healthier.
This is not about choosing between family and ambition. It’s about creating environments where women don’t have to sacrifice themselves to succeed.
When women rise, workplaces don’t just become diverse. They become more balanced, more human, and more sustainable. And that is real progress.
